4th Grade Moving On

Today, our fourth graders presented their "Moving On" celebration to their families. During the celebration, students sang songs, received their certificates, and presented me with a gift for the school -- a banner with our core values on it! In addition, we watched a DVD of pictures of all the fourth grade students through the years. Thanks to the generosity of the PTO all students in the fourth grade will receive a DVD and yearbook. I was also presented with a emblem signed by all the students to hang in my office to remember my first Woodville graduating class. Thank you!!!

Kindergarten Show

Our Kindergartners put on a wonderful show this past week for their families. They sang songs about concepts they've learned this year.

Picnic in Monet's Garden

Miss Ellen's PreSchool class welcomed their families into their classroom for a picnic lunch in Monet's garden. The students have been studying Monet and painted many pictures themselves. This was a wonderful opportunity for the families to spend time in our school.

Mystery Book Reports in Grade 3

Mrs. Siafakas' Third Grade Students recently completed book reports on mystery books. Students had to choose a book and then decorate the outside of a cereal box. They identified characters, setting, and plot as the "ingredients" and decorated the box. Good work, 3rd graders!

3 Generations of Woodville School Principals

Three generations of Woodville School principals recently met to tour the Woodville School. Pictured are Mr. George Weldin (Principal from 1957-1976), Mr. Brian Middleton-Cox (Principal from 2008 to present), and Mr. James Boyd (Principal from 2003-2008). Mr. Weldin was principal when it was an 8 room school, Mr. Boyd oversaw the construction of the new building, and Mr. Middleton-Cox is leading the school into the future.

Learning About Fish

Ms. Martin's Kindergarten class has been learning about different types of fish in their science lessons. Each group in the classroom has a Japanese Fighting Fish on their table and when I visited, students were painting fish and making jellyfish.

Third Grade Show

Last night, our 3rd grade students performed a wonderful show under the direction of our music teacher, Mrs. Barry. They sang the school songs, and songs about Massachusetts, which are part of the 3rd grade Social Studies curriculum. The students were engaging and put a lot of effort into their performance. Great job!!

Field Day - Day 1

Today our students in grades PreK-2 enjoyed a wonderful field day! Thanks to the help of parents Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Joly and their MANY volunteers, our students had a wonderful time playing games in and out of the school. At the end of the day, the students enjoyed slush. The weather was wonderful and there were plenty of smiles at the Woodville School today!

4th Grade Spelling Bee

Today, our 4th grade students attended the annual town-wide 4th grade Spelling Bee held at the Dolbeare School. I was very proud of our 4th grade finalists that were in the competition: Ashley Rossino, Jillian, Surette, and Carmen Sorrentino. The alternates were: Michael Ruane, Kyle Cabral, and Daniel Sallade. I also enjoyed being a judge for the Bee!
