Today we had our November school-wide assembly on Cooperation. Our second grade students shared a folktale by Alexei Tolstoy called
The Great Big Enormous Turnip which is a folktale about cooperation. In addition I read a book by Stan and Jan Berenstain called
Berenstain Bears Get in a Fight which illustrates how to work together cooperatively.
Students were taught that to be cooperative means to: listen, share, take turns, compromise, do your part, show appreciation, encourage people, make people feel needed, and not to isolate or exlude anyone.
