Book Fair Information

Dear Woodville Community,
As we prepare for the annual Book Fair, I want to share with you some reasons why we chose BookEnds over Scholastic this year. The most important reason is that we are not able to receive the Scholastic Buy One Get One (BOGO) unless we host two fairs (the first fair is needs to be full-priced). In response to this, the committee has ensured that there will be lower priced books available. Additional reasons are as follows:

BOOKENDS

PROS
· Woodville earns a percentage of all sales – the higher the sales, the bigger the percentage
· Woodville receives books of our choosing based on % of sales
· We are supporting a local business
· BookEnds sets up and breaks down everything
· BookEnds provides an automated sales system via laptops with scanners
· Books are organized by type on moveable carts provided by BookEnds. Covers for the carts are also included for covering.
· If we run out of any books during the day, BookEnds delivers additional copies the following day
· Less volunteers required due to process of Book Fair by bookends
· BookEnds provides all forms for ease of ordering, follow-ups, sales tracking etc.
· No junky toys, non-educational toys, collectibles

CONS
· No BOGO
·
Expensive books (we have requested they remove these this year and have added additional lower priced books)

SCHOLASTIC

PROS
· BOGO*

CONS
· *In order to qualify for the BOGO, Woodville is required to host two fairs. Of these two fairs the first is all full-priced and the second is the BOGO
· Scholastic will not work with us if we host only one fair
· We do not have the manpower with volunteers for two fairs
· Scholastic drops books off – Woodville needs to provide locations for books. They do not set up fair, which require more help from volunteers
· The school does not receive any percentage of sales (either books or money) If we run out of any books throughout the fair, there is no way to get additional ones.
· Non-quality, non-educational merchandise (toys, collectibles) is provided which leads to many students being upset if they do not get any (and we can not reorder)
· All sales need to be tallied and tracked manually which also requires additional manpower

Thank you so much for supporting the Woodville School through our Book Fair. The Book Fair dates are March 8-12.
Mr. Middleton-Cox
