Hearing and Vision Testing

Initial state mandated vision and hearing screening for grades K-4 started at Woodville on November 18th and will continued after the Thanksgiving break. Kindergartners are tested for hearing only while grades 1-4 are tested for vision, steriopsis or muscle balance, and hearing. Your children will be screened by experienced state trained nurses.

Any child experiencing difficulty with either test will then be referred to me and I will retest them in that category. Only those failing both the test and the retest will be referred for medical evaluation via letters to the parents specifying the areas of failure. You will not be notified if your child passes all areas. If your child uses glasses at school please remind him/her to have them available.
We try to make the screening a fun process, and, in fact, many of the older students now look forward to it!
